Our Process

After reviewing our website and ideally ordering the Planning Kit to learn even more, you can move forward by following these steps to achieve your log home dream.

1. You'll want the perfect home plan to compliment your piece of property.  We encourage you to create your custom home plan by utilizing the interactive features you can find on www.loghomedesigncenter.com. This site is set up by Kuhns Bros Log Homes to assist you in designing a home just right for you.  But don't forget, we can also help make your own unique custom design a reality.
2. Call us to arrange a personalized home tour or you can come by any of my monthly open houses and begin planning your new home.  Working together, we'll decide on how much home you can afford to build plus finance, construction, package options and more.  If you've selected a home design we can submit a request for a free detailed price estimate.  At this point you may also consider attending one of our Construction Workshops.
3. It’s time to meet with the financial professional of your choice to formally qualify you for the purchase of your log home package. Kuhns Bros can also help you with financing through Preferred Capitol Mortgage service.
4. About a week after the initial consultation you will meet again with us to review the estimate and finalize any necessary plan modifications.  A deposit will guarantee a one-year Price Freeze, and will activate your dream home’s preliminary plans.  Now you can submit a loan application to your financial institution.
5. Shipped along with our instructional Construction Manual and DVD, your dream home’s preliminary plans will be ready to review within four weeks for any “Signature Design”.  After any modifications are finalized, you’ll sign off on the preliminary plans and place a 20 percent deposit so that the official construction blueprints can be completed.
6. It’s time to select a date for your log home package to be delivered.  Please allow up to eight weeks from the time your 20 percent deposit is received for delivery of your log home package.  The closing date of your financing needs to be scheduled at least two weeks prior to delivery.
7. Lastly, site preparation can be started while Kuhns Bros. precuts your new log home package.  Final payment is due upon delivery.
